TERM 1 CREDIT RECOVERY & ATTENDANCE

    Credit Recovery:  Term I

Term I credit recovery sessions are open. If you have more than 4 absences, then you must attend credit recovery sessions. If you are an AM student, you will also attend the PM session. If you are a PM student, you will attend the AM session also. The number of days that you must attend both sessions to recover your course credits will depend on the number of days you are absent.

You will sign in with Ms. Taylor for your recovery session and complete online assignments. You will remain in the assigned room during your recovery sessions. In order to receive your Term 1 course credits, you must attend each recovery session that you are assigned AND you must complete the online work assigned.

If You do not attend all assigned sessions, you cannot regain credit. If you do not pass the online course assignments with 70% or better, you cannot regain credit.

Please check with Ms. Taylor right away if you are unsure if you need to attend any credit recovery sessions. REMEMBER, 4 DAYS PER 9 WEEKS IS THE ALLOWANCE. IF YOU HAVE MISSED 5 DAYS OR MORE THEN YOU MUST ATTEND.

    Compulsory Attendance Law

State law (Texas Education Code Section 25.085) requires that all students at least 6 years of age and not yet 19 attend school each day. Compulsory attendance also applies to students who are younger than six and who have been voluntarily enrolled in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten.

    90% Rule

Students earn course credits by meeting the course requirements AND attending classes 90% of the time, whether the absences are excused or unexcused. Your student may not earn course credit nor be promoted to the next grade level if they are not meeting the 90% rule. In order to receive credit for a final grade for a class, the student must go through the Attendance Recovery Process at your campus.
